GitKraken Desktop + GitHub Enterprise Issues Integration

Last updated: March 2026

This page explains how GitKraken Desktop connects to GitHub Enterprise Server Issues so you can preview, filter, and create issues alongside your repository work. Use it when you already work with GitHub Enterprise Server and want issue access inside GitKraken Desktop instead of switching to the web interface.

The GitHub Enterprise Server Issues integration is view-only for Community users. To unlock full features, consider upgrading to a paid GitKraken license.

Requirements and limits

  • Integration covered here: GitHub Enterprise Server Issues
  • Server version: GitHub Enterprise Server 2.20.24 or newer
  • Connection model: Shares the same connection as the GitHub Enterprise Server integration
  • Plan: Advanced, Business, or Enterprise for the underlying GitHub Enterprise Server integration
  • Community plan: View-only access
  • Full issue workflows: Paid GitKraken license required for full feature access

What this integration requires

This integration requires GitHub Enterprise Server version 2.20.24 or newer.

How to connect GitHub Enterprise Server Issues

The GitHub Enterprise Server integration and GitHub Enterprise Server Issues integration share the same connection.

Use GitHub Enterprise Server Issues in GitKraken Desktop when: you want enterprise issue context beside your repository workflow after connecting the base integration. Don’t use this page when: you still need to set up the underlying GitHub Enterprise Server authentication first.

You can set up the integration from the ISSUES section in the Left Panel or from Preferences > Integrations.

Follow these GitHub Enterprise authentication steps to connect your instance.

What you can do with GitHub Enterprise Server Issues

Once connected, this integration offers the same features as the GitHub Issues integration:

Use the in-app issue workflow when: you want preview, filtering, and issue-based actions inside GitKraken Desktop. Don’t rely on it alone when: you need broader enterprise issue-management features outside the workflow covered here.
